OFFICIAL UPDATE 12/4: White Wonderland New Years Eve will feature Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Paul Van Dyk, & Diplo. New Years Day will feature Steve Angello, AN21, Max Vangeli, & Thomas Gold. It will be located at the Anaheim Convention Center. One day tickets are going for around $80 at whitewonderland.com.
Rumors are abuzz about Insomniac’s New Years Eve event, White Wonderland, which is to be held in place of their usual Together As One New Years’ Festival in Los Angeles. So far, I have heard the event is 21+, the attire is to be all white, and it will be held at a location about 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles (after the controversy from last year the LA Sports Arena & Coliseum are no longer doing business with Insomniac Events or holding electronic music festivals at their venues). My guess is the Home Depot Center in Carson, which was the last stop for Tiesto’s College Invasion Tour. According to Sempersonic, the event is merging with Big Time, which was to be held at the Shrine Auditorium. Big Time tickets will be refunded to those who choose not to attend White Wonderland and those who are under 21. White Wonderland will likely include large acts such as Dada Life and Benny Benassi, and rumors of 1 or more of the Swedish House Mafia trio [Axwell//Sebastian Ingrosso//Steve Angello] and Hardwell have been circulating.
But a pat on the back to Insomniac’s founder, Pasqualle Rotella, for getting the idea from Sensation White, an all-white festival held most recently in Barcelona, originating in Amsterdam. Also props for milking the “Wonderland” theme [Escape from Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland...], apparently associating everything they can with Alice In Wonderland = cash monayyy $$$$$.
