Watch out, DJ Bean on the 1′s and 2′s. This is a mix I made of my favorite house & trance songs of this season. It features some standout tracks from Coachella, new Kaskade Mashups, Tiesto, Morgan Page, Michael Woods, Deniz Koyu, Swedish House Mafia and more. The beginning transition is messed up (didn’t realize it until it was all done) but the rest is okay. Put it on for a long drive or before your workout. Hope you like it :)

I loved the original Above & Beyond version of Love Is Not Enough featuring Zoe Johnston‘s incredible voice range. A&B’s music is pretty emotional stuff so if you want a bit more upbeat version of this amazing track, I have the answer. Kaskade Remix.

Kaskade’s set at Coachella was an incredible performance of epic proportions. I’ve seen Kaskade a few times before, and he’s always put on a good show, but nothing like this. You could really tell that he spent a lot of time working on the mashups for his set, mixing his signature floaty vocal tunes seamlessly with nasty beats with drops that came out of NOWHERE. Most notably for me were the unreleased Llove (Dada Life Remix) & his Turn It Down/Toulouse Mashup. Truly one of the most impressive sets I’ve seen and I can’t wait for what’s to come as he embarks on his Freaks of Nature tour. I’ll definitely have to catch him in Vegas Memorial Day weekend.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this song at first, but it won me over. I like the hard rock dance vibe and lyrics. From Kaskade’s new CD Fire&Ice.

Kaskade’s new two-disc CD called Fire and Ice is out tomorrow, October 25th, on iTunes. The first disc, FIRE, is more up-tempo, featuring collaborations with Skylar Grey, Neon Trees, Dada Life & Skrillex. A preview of Lick It featuring Skrillex has been high on the Hype Machine charts all week and has a cool disco feel but I find it a bit repetitive. Disc two, ICE, features a downtempo post-club feel, really showing his versatility. Here’s a preview of his ICE version of Turn It Down, which is pretty awesome because I’m a fan of the original. It’s really cool and calm until it gets to around 2:11 so if you have your volume turned all the way up you are very likely to Turn It Down (unless you want the shit scared out of you). The dubstep part is a random burst of energy considering it goes back to a really slow, calm, sleepy vibe for the rest of the song. I’m looking forward to seeing new sides of him (ahem, Kaskade dubstep? I’m down). I have high expectations so my boy Ryan better not disappoint. Pre-order the 2-disc album for $9.99 on iTunes and support his new sound.

Wow. This mix is truly magical. Two hours of Kaskade spinning “melodic and euphoric” hit after hit after hit. Perfect for working out and keeping you going. This mix seriously inspired me to be a better person. Maybe it’s the musical side of me that loves the girly lyrics I can sing along to. I love that when Kaskade talks at the beginning of the set, he mentions that he likes to feature lyrics & melodies that mean something. AH-MAZING.

Who knew-la vista?

Identity Festival is winding down and I was lucky enough to snag a $20 ticket a while ago when Skullcandy had their $20 for 20 hours deal. With artists like Le Castle Vania, Booka Shade, Datsik, Afrojack, Nero, Kaskade, and Pretty Lights, I think I can go out on a limb and say I got some bang for my buck.

The production company, Skullcandy, has pulled off the first-ever touring strictly electronic music festival in the United States. ID Fest was held in over 20 cities, including Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas, Alberquerque, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. A cool detail that I noticed when browsing the website and also the decor for the mainstage was their creation of unique logos for each city. They each personified a symbol representing the city, like an apple for New York, a cowboy hat for Dallas, a cactus for Alberquerque, the Golden Gate Bridge for SF, and an ocean wave for SD.

Every day I try to look my best
Even though inside I’m such a mess
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible

Oh hellz yeah. Identity countdown: 2 days.
