Check out my recent post for Techibeats:

The boys of Dada Life have blessed us Techiheads today with their full-length album, The Rules of Dada. Most of the tracks should come as familiar anthems to you by now. We’ve heard songs such as “Kick Out The Epic MotherF**ker”, “Happy Violence”, “Rolling Stone T-Shirt”, and “Feed the Dada” at several festivals over the past year. But new tracks like “Don’t Stop” really show Dada Life’s diversity, exemplifying their ability to produce a chill downtempo vibe that’s still very much DADA. “Arrive Beautiful Leave Ugly” and “Bass Don’t Cry” are other notable tunes off the album, reminding us that they will always continue to push the envelope with their music. Each and every track promises to deliver a punch of unique electronic sounds with big-room melodic drops that will keep you going bananas until nighttime. Pop open a bottle of champagne and stream the new tracks from our favorite crazy Swedes below! Which one is your favorite?

  • SHAKEDOWN Vol. II headliners are two of Los Angeles’s premier Bass Music Producers; FLINCH (Smog L.A.) & NO BODY (LED)
  • FLINCH (Smog L.A.): Los Angeles based beat maker Adam Glassco, better known as Flinch, is no stranger to the EDM world. A veteran producer who has progressed effortlessly from his beginnings in drum & bass and then electro, to current endeavors into jump-up and deeper, more melodic synth-based dubstep. The succession of sounds Flinch adheres to reflects a new breed of artists distinguished most by his ability to marry a massive, tear-out bassline with a melody that could serenade your grandmother, or create tracks that pair careful grit & distortion with catchy songwriting. A true tastemaker, Flinch consistently delivers a wide selection of cuts riding between the UK funky, club, moombahton, techno, garage, and dubstep genre lines. There is an undeniable buzz in the bass music world for Flinch’s recent productions on labels like SMOG and Trouble & Bass records, but most notably the massive “World On Fire,” which has often been championed by Skrillex, 12th Planet, and Datsik and is making a huge impact with audiences worldwide. http://soundcloud.com/flinchbass
  • NO BODY (LED): Ruben and Kevin first met after performing at the world famous Control Los Angeles in Hollywood, CA. They expressed an interest in collaborating with one another and to their surprise, their efforts went incredibly well. No Body was formed soon after in November 2010, after Ruben and Kevin successfully collaborated to create their first original tracks (Don’t Go, Two, We Speak American). Receiving support from some of the best in the business such as; Deadmau5, Tiesto, Hardwell, Axwell, Sidney Samson, Chris Lake, Congorock, Dada Life, Autoerotique, Porter Robinson, Dave Nada, Supabeatz, Lucky Date, and DJ Neoteric, No Body showed great promise. And that was only the beginning. Fresh off their heavily discussed Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival DJ set on The Discovery Stage – No Body is excited to be back home in L.A. continuing their homerun hitting streak of stellar stage performances! http://soundcloud.com/no-body-official

“Germany’s very own electro house prodigy, Zedd, just released the extended mix to his latest track, ‘Spectrum’, off Interscope Records. The banger features the vocals of singer Matthew Koma which strongly help lead the build into a high energy electro drop. After posting the preview to this track a little over a week ago, I was too excited to hear the entire track. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!”

I’m OBSESSED with Deniz Koyu. Can’t wait to hear more of him, all his tracks are massive I tell you.

Finally, a breath of fresh air from the boring Calvin Harris we’ve been hearing on mainstream radio so much lately. This track has renewed my hope in the producer’s choices in remixing. While I’m at it, CH, please perform live at your shows. For someone who has claimed not to be a “popstar” it sure seems like you’re headed in that direction. You of all people should understand the value in live performance! I guess I’m just disappointed that he simply DJ’ed the same rotation of popular EDM tracks I had heard all weekend at Coachella instead of performing on the piano & singing his classics live. He was one of the artists I was the most stoked to see. I’m on the fence with you Mr. Harris!

I know what you’re thinking. Oh God, not another Gotye Remix. I definitely thought the same thing and I think I will shoot myself if I hear it one more time after being played nonstop in Vegas this weekend. But this bootleg really takes the cake, preserving all the great elements of the original and enhancing it with a disco sounding beat. I discovered it today on Eric Prydz’s new podcast, EPIC. Download the podcast if you’re ready to get funky, it is pretty excellent.
