Check out my friend Travis’ video. Pretty much sums up my Coachella 2012 experience. I make a small cameo around the 3:50 mark with my birthday crown. Best birthday ever, until next year.

Kaskade’s set at Coachella was an incredible performance of epic proportions. I’ve seen Kaskade a few times before, and he’s always put on a good show, but nothing like this. You could really tell that he spent a lot of time working on the mashups for his set, mixing his signature floaty vocal tunes seamlessly with nasty beats with drops that came out of NOWHERE. Most notably for me were the unreleased Llove (Dada Life Remix) & his Turn It Down/Toulouse Mashup. Truly one of the most impressive sets I’ve seen and I can’t wait for what’s to come as he embarks on his Freaks of Nature tour. I’ll definitely have to catch him in Vegas Memorial Day weekend.

Yet another Santa Barbara super group! I guess Del Playa really does bring out the best in us. Thanks to Matt Mitro for introducing me to this band. See you at Coachella Gardens & Villa.

I’ll be yours, someday.

Soon My Friend – M83

By now I hope you’ve caught on to the hype surrounding Australian musician (and Coachella-bound) Gotye, and if you haven’t heard his huge single Somebody That I Used To Know on the radio or on every music blog on the World Wide Web check out my post about him here.

Here’s an answer to you budding DJ’s out there that have been itching to put this amazing Gotye song into your DJ set. LAZRtag’s version is the first decent house remix of this song I have heard, and creatively fuses Gotye’s vocals with the female voice, Kimbra. Enjoy, you techno heads.

Today I have some great songs by Belgian/Australian musician Gotye, who will be perfoming this year on Sunday of Coachella.  His music videos are awesomely trippy & Tim Burton-esque; his lyrics are a powerful & honest commentary on love, heartbreak, & society.

Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Australian group Pendulum have joined forces to create one gnarly, massive, bass-in-your-face electro-dubstep group called Knife Party. After listening to their I Heart Techno live set from Belgium, their sound has just blown me away. Get ready for multiple eargasms.

1. Great gym/driving set.

2. Narsty.

3. I love the wobble in the background around 4:00. Inspired by an old school mau5 beat?

Check out this amazing HD video that my friends over at Project M80 created for Tiesto’s recent College Invasion Tour. I attended the one in Carson but this one captures the spirit, color, & happiness of Tiesto & his tour at Avila Beach, on the coast of Southern California.

Who’s ready for some HARD electro music??? The illest halloween rave is upon us. Can’t wait for Fake Blood. Hope it will be as epic as the past two years.

So it took me a few days to recover, but I finally got around to posting the videos I have from Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. The only complaints I have about it were the weather (although that was mostly my fault, it was FREEZING and I didn’t bring the warmest sweater on the first night…in true SoCal girl fashion) and the fact that the sound system on the first day seemed a bit quiet. But my friend Sandra and I determined that perhaps the reason for that was the fog, and the sound probably didn’t travel as well. Also, since the festival was so massive, I had kind of hoped that they would have some screens showing the artists perform so that the people in the back could at least see what was going on on the stage. I’m sure they’re not used to as big of a crowd as they got this year, so hopefully they’ll make some improvements. But all in all, man, what a great fucking weekend. The vibes were great, people were actually nice, everyone was smiling, hippies & hipsters everywhere, people laying in the grass…so much love. It was definitely unlike any other festival or rave I’ve been to.
