Today I bring you a track by Moses Melkonian, a London musician whose voice reminds me of both Sufjan Stevens & Chris Martin. Video by Aaron Leaman. Check out his blog & his other work, this guy has some raw talent.

Mellow version by of the classic Where Is My Mind, originally made popular by the Pixies.

I hate tragic news like this. DJ Medhi, French producer and half of the electronic group Carte Blanche, passed away in an accident involving a roof collapse in Paris last night. He was 34. Rest in Peace Medhi.

There’s something about Adele that is so raw and makes my eyes misty. She performed Someone Like You tonight at theVMAs. About the song and the relationship that her album 21 is about, she said:

“I was really emotionally drained from the way I was portraying him, because even though I’m very bitter and regret some parts of it, he’s still the most important person that’s ever been in my life, and Someone Like You, I had to write it to feel OK with myself and OK with the two years I spent with him. And when I did it, I felt so freed.”

I admire the way she can put her emotions into words and sing them with such strength and vulnerability. It’s good she can do that and speak for so many girls that can’t.

Well, Outside Lands is over. And this emotional song by Sia is perfect for my mood right now. I call it post music festival depression. Nothing can top a great weekend at Golden Gate Park with amazing live music. Sia was one of my favorites of the weekend, what a great voice. Recap of the weekend to come (when I have recovered enough to upload videos).

Breathe Me – Sia

I saw Zooey Deschanel today [and she is just as amazing as you think she is]. I thinking about one of my favorite movies all day, 500 Days of Summer. Regina Spektor sings the song that plays in the intro of the movie, Us.

A chill, trippy, experimental & instrumental song. Close your eyes and picture yourself sitting on the beach in the warm sand with the sun reflecting in the clear blue ocean. Thanks Dan for this tune.

Claire de Lune by Debussy is my all-time favorite classical song to hear on the piano. My sister Laura is really talented and always filled the house with loud piano music. At first it annoyed me, but now I miss it. Here’s RAC’s electronic version of Clair De Lune.
